Chikhaldara is only hill station of vidarbha situated in Amravati District.

History of chikhaldara goes back to Mahabharata era, this is the place where Bheema killed Keechaka in a epic battle and then threw him into the valley.

Thats why its name Kichkadara was given and later it become Chikhaldara.
It is situated at an altitude of 1118 meters with highest vairat point 1188 meters and has the added dimension of being the only coffee-growing area in Maharashtra.

The best months to visit are from October to June.

chikhaldara is very near to famous Melghat Tiger Project, which contain Tiger, Leapord, Bear, Deer , Sambar and lots of bird spicies.
One can see the wild beauty of Melghat using Tiger Safari.

Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj Temple is named for Gajanan Maharaj who once lived there. Hindus consider Gajanan Maharaj a saint with miraculous powers, and the temple is built at his place of samādhi (meditation).

It is the largest temple trust in the Vidarbha region and is known as the "Pandharpur of Vidarbha". It attracts pilgrims from across Maharashtra.

Daily programs,festival and other duties are organised by a trust.

The trust coordinates services in the spiritual, religious, medical, and educational fields.

Karanja is situated in Karanja City of Maharashtra State.

Karanja is famous for its Nrusimha Saraswati Swami Maharaj temple.

Shri Nrusimha Saraswati Gurumaharaj is the second avatar (incarnation) of Lord Dattatreya. Born in Karanja in 1378,

He achieved Sainthood and performed several miracles. He imparted spiritual knowledge to his disciples, many of whom themselves attained Sainthood.

The Gurumandir Temple conducts several major events to celebrate the various avatars of Lord Dattatreya.

Other old temples are Vitthal mandir, Chote Ram mandir and as well as famous "Kannao Ram mandir".

Each year Ramnavami and other Hindu religious activities are performed in these temples.




M U K T A G I R I


Muktagiri, or Mendhagiri, is a Jain pilgrimage centre, located on border of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra in India.

Muktagiri temple consists of 52 temples. One has to climb 600 stairs to see all the temples. These temples were built during 13th-14th century. The arched entrance to the cave temple has carvings of lotus with small images of tirthankar carved on each side of gate, with an image of Mahavir Swami in lotus position installed in the middle of entrance gate.

It comprises a square garbhagriha with mandapa having carvings of leaves. Mandapa is a circular structure based on two pillars and four kudya stambhas. On mandapa's wall images of tirthankaras has been carved. The cave consist of around 56 images of tirthankars.[7]
